Steve Causey - Founder, Chief Architect

Steve Causey's path to a career in IT started at a very early age. Having a father who was a long time software engineer at CSC, then self-employed IT consultant for many years before retiring, Steve was exposed to lots of technology and expertise not in the average home.

After learning how to first build PCs at the age of 13, Steve's skill set quickly progressed into other avenues such as Windows Servers, networking, and Active Directory domains. This trend continued throughout his high school and college years, while working as a systems engineer for Calvert Computer Solutions, Inc. in Southern Maryland. This work was a healthy combination of retail sales, hardware integration, as well as on-site technical support for residental and commercial customers.

While working, Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree for Information Systems at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith Business School in 2007. Since that time, Steve's career evolved into playing key roles on a variety of large-scale Government contracts, including mission critical systems at the top secret classification. Steve's exceptional technical skills also led to team lead positions at multiple employers, and was the youngest to do so.

After 15+ years of professional IT experience, Steve founded AM Cloud Partners. His passion for cloud technologies had grown into something he wanted to focus on, but he recognized that many companies still had much to learn about how it could improve their business, and how to best integrate it within their infrastructure. As someone who has experience with small businesses from various angles, Steve understands the unique challenges they face, and strongly believes in supporting them. However, he also has the experience with larger-scale enterprise class systems necessary to support a variety of customer sizes. Fortunately, the cloud is intentionally designed to have the flexibility and scalability so that projects of all sizes can benefit.

Beyond the professional world, Steve enjoys traveling, sports, and animals. He and his lovely wife Eleni foster dogs for OPH (Operation Paws for Homes), in addition to taking care of their own American Eskimo dog, Mickey.
